How the estimate works. Each formula turns a set of several reps into the single rep it suggests you could lift. Epley is the most widely used, Brzycki tends to be closer at low reps, and Lombardi is gentler at high reps. The headline number is the average of the three. Estimates are most reliable from sets of 2 to 10 reps taken close to failure, so the calculator stops at 12 reps.
In Liftr. Liftr charts your estimated one-rep max for every exercise as you log, so you can watch it move without doing the sum yourself.
